I have been a user of the ScotlandsPeople site for many years, and can truely say that the content and information that I have obtained from them has been invaluable.
The site requires an account to be created, and you will need to purchase credit points that then allow you to purchase the primary resource images of birth. death, marriage records that they have available.
As a resource site for Scottish ancestors I would recommend it as one of the prime sites of use. Like any online site, you may not find everyone you want, but it may just give you another piece for your family tree puzzle.

FreeCen - UK Census

The FreeCen site is a great resource for researchers looking for information on British ancestors. The content of the site has been developed by volunteers and is free to use. I have found it extreemly useful over the years and it has given me starting points for some of the ancestors that I needed to find.
Well worth adding to your list of resources.

The National Library of Australia have some of the most wonderful resources for researchers, one of my favourites is the Australian Newspapers.
You can search through old Argus papers, and find some amazing stories or family notices. I have been lucky enough to source a number of articles from this e-resource site and recommend it to anyone who is researching family history in Australia.
Definitely add this one to your bookmark list.

Now I didn't find a relative here, but certainly got lost in the site for a few hours. It is just one of the great sites that researchers can access, like me you may not find someone you were looking for, but I am sure you will find it interesting.

I'm not Scottish but I love the country and culture. I've had the pleasure of visiting 3 times. And home-made haggis is delicious!

Great hub - I've always planned to trace my ancestry (have scottish both sides of the family).
Just one thing - you might want to consider making your hubs 500+ words if you want google to pick them up. Welcome to HP!
